Experience

Risa Weinberger, P. E. is the President of Risa Weinberger & Associates, Inc., a professional

services consulting firm formed in 2003 providing technical consulting services focusing

on environmental and waste management issues. Prior to establishing the firm she had

24 years of similar consulting services, most recently serving as a Vice President and

Senior Professional Associate of HDR Engineering, Inc., a national, multidisciplinary

consulting firm. Throughout the course of her career, she has served both public and

private clients by identifying needs, implementing solutions, and providing quality

control.

She is a frequent published author and presenter throughout the country on technical

topics dealing with solid waste management, environmental issues, and matters of

interest to the public sector such as competitiveness. Ms. Weinberger has conducted

workshops and seminars on a variety of timely subjects. She is a member of both the

training faculty and e-training faculty for the Solid Waste Association of North America

(SWANA). She has conducted numerous workshops and made professional

presentations to such organizations as TxSWANA, SWANA, the US Composting

Council, STAR, Texas Compost Council, Texas Public Works Association, TCEQ

Environmental Trade Fair, and Texas Municipal League among others.

Her executive-level training includes communications, social styles, negotiating,

marketing, presentation skills, and project management, among many others.

Ms. Weinberger has participated in a wide variety of environmental and engineering

designs and studies with strong emphasis on solid waste and composting. She has

conducted landfill and compost facility designs and permit application preparations, post

closure use plans, site selections, technical and economic feasibility studies,

Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Storm Water Pollution

Prevention Plans and solid waste management plans and studies. Her experience also

includes training, training program development, program management and construction phase

services. Project responsibilities include project development, project

management, client liaison, and project engineer.
